So basically Jim Macken and his brother, Luka, really hated the crappy village that they lived in, and Jim really wanted the whole place to burn and for everyone in it to die. Luka came across a demoness named Hannah and made a contract with her grant his older brother's wish. Hannah had her demon servants do the deed, and she then confronted Luka. He thanked her before the demoness mournfully consumed his soul, and the boy became a part of her. Hannah then adopted the boy's desires to fulfill his brother's wishes and to watch over him. Later, Jim went looking for Luka only to find him dead. Sometime later, he and some other boys became slaves to the Earl of Trancy, who was actually a pedophile looking to do disturbing things with them. Although he was rejected by the old earl at first, Jim eventually won him over using his body and became the heir to the Trancy household. The habit of seducing others to get what he wants stayed with Jim even after the earl died and he took on the name as Alois Trancy, the Earl of Trancy.

As the Head of the Trancy Household, Alois has servants to aide him. These include his demon butler, Claude Faustus, whom he also has a Faustian Contract with, Hannah Anafeloz, a shell of her old self, and Hannah's demons, Canterbury, Thompson, and Timber. Alois is particularly interested in torturing Hannah because he believes that she is trying to steal Claude's attention away from him, as shown when he gouges her eye out. Hannah actually had no intention of doing anything like that, as she genuinely cares for Alois, unlike Claude, who ends up breaking their contract and killing the boy.
